Slaves are slaves because that is what they are. Whatever the arrangement between Master and slave, slaves are slaves all the time. They are not subs. They are never equal to the Master. No two human beings are equal at anything. In some areas, perhaps, a slave has greater expertise than his Master. Both are human beings, it’s just that one accepts that he wishes to submit himself to the other.
No one should fight his innate nature. If a man is a slave, he ought to find a deserving Master. Good slaves are hard to find. However, no one should try to make himself into something he is not. A slave is guided by a beacon somewhere in his unconsciousness and that beacon is the ideal of a slave with no limits whatsoever – no conditions. A slave in training discovers that as he eliminates his fears and the conditions that result from them, the bliss of surrender grows and grows.
It is important for a slave to recognise his slave nature. Self-acceptance and self-esteem are the cornerstones of a happy life. For people who are sexually unconventional, this foundation is often shaky and, at times, non-existent. It is difficult to feel good about yourself when the sting of a whip is your idea of a sensual caress or when society castigates the unconventional.
Ever since psychiatrists in 19th Century Europe first classified kinky behaviours as abnormal, ugly myths have prevailed over honest information. Sexual variations which are largely the outgrowth of normal and innate human impulses have been labelled as perversions and sicknesses; people who long for intense sensations or unusual erotic experiences have been branded sinners and sociopaths.
There are few public role models to show that it is possible to act out unusual sexual fantasies safely and lovingly. The popular image of the sexual pervert is of a shady, neurotic character who lurks in dark bars, incapable of intimacy, consumed by morbid, even violent urges.
Whether we crave the elaborate rituals of god worship or the complex structure of Master-slave relationships, the liberating captivity of bondage or the playful discipline of adult spankings, those who explore the world of sexual dominance and submission are repeatedly sent the message that who we are and what we want are all wrong.
In the face of near-universal disapproval, we sometimes feel ashamed of who we are; we resist our emotions and repress our needs. Sexual sadists fear that they may be serial killers in disguise; sexual masochists worry that they may secretly have victim complexes. Fetishists feel isolated and guilty, believing that a desire to worship feet or to wear rubber is a kind of mental illness.
The anxiety about being sexually unconventional is so pervasive that even those who have come to terms with their own kinks may find it hard to accept the kinky things that others do. We need to take stock of our own lives and to recognise our personal achievements.
Whether it's our success in meeting obligations at home and at work, our contributions to our communities or our churches; or the loyalty and compassion we've shown relatives and friends, our own lives demonstrate a simple fact: being sexually different does not make us any less moral, any less decent or any less precious than other human beings, it is simply a facet of our complex lives. When we learn to accept ourselves as we are we will build a foundation for personal happiness that no myth can shake.
Generally speaking, slaves who only seem to be interested in belittling themselves are not worthy of control or ownership. If a potential slave is constantly saying he is worthless, useless and pathetic then he generally is. Equally it is also usually a bad sign if a slave is constantly praising a Master. In this instance the slave is ether extremely insecure, extremely shy or he is just trying to pad out a masturbation fantasy.
A potential slave is naturally, genetically born with an ego. The ego has been trained and strengthened by everything we have learned and been exposed to throughout life. When a man begins his slave training the ego is denied. As the human, with its ego, is weakened, the spirit of slavery, with its true nature becomes the only nature of the slave man. Finally, at birth, that slave nature produces the only characteristics which remain. And then, the man becomes slave.
A slave's ego is used only to care for a Master's slave when he is away from his Master. When he is with his Master, all thoughts, feelings and sensations are given to the Master and used as the Master sees fit. Nothing belongs to the slave, except the slavery, itself, and his Master. During those hard, messy times when the ego is being itself, some men conclude that they are not willing to make the life changes that are necessary.
When a man is being trained to prepare him for his birth to slavery, every word, every motion, every touch, every bondage, every physical discipline is singularly focused on causing a destruction of the ego and development of the environment into which a slave can and will be born.
Once the ego is completely subdued and denied, will slave birth become more of a reality and a possibility.
The physiological and psychological descent via the modification of the ego from total consciousness to the relaxing, uninhibited plane that is ‘slave-space’ is mind-blowing, indeed, mind-expanding. When we experience pain (and/or fear) the body releases endorphins which help us to cope with the assault. One of the other rather nice side effects of endorphins are that they can produce a delicious natural high which can vary from a warm floating feeling to intense screaming euphoria. Some slaves describe it as diving or flying. There is no doubt that endorphin highs can produce euphoric feelings but submission itself, the joy of overcoming the difficulties and succeeding in the true, conscious desire to submit, can also bring one to a euphoric state.
Quite how one reaches this state seems to vary for everyone but it could be described as a very trusting, accepting and peaceful place where even communication becomes difficult. A slave will find his own slave-space eventually with guidance, direction and training from his Master.
