The primary use of this mode is for conversation for short periods. In private, the ‘at-ease’ mode will be normally limited to conversations where slave is sitting in front of Master David or seated beside him for the purpose of conversations that are pleasing to Master David. slave should feel that this is not his normal state or the best suited state to please Master David and should and strive to feel more at-ease in the regular "slave" mode. Master David, from time to time, may place slave in this mode for longer periods of time, if he feels it is to his advantage and occasionally to reward slave for particularly outstanding service. The mode of behaviour is used quite extensively at the start of training, before a slave has been trained. § slave will at all times remains respectful and mindful that its primary purpose is to serve, obey and please Master David. The reason for the ‘relax' mode is for the pleasure of Master David and should be viewed as such. § It is not necessary to say ‘Master’ or ‘Sir’ before and after each sentence, but language should still be used respectfully. slave can freely worship Master David at any time in this mode, as long as it pleases him and does not interfere with his activities. § slave has a freer use of language in this mode. § Eye Contact is permitted: slave may freely look at Master David in the ‘relax’ mode but is still expected to frequently cast eyes downward to show respect. § Disrespect or misuse of this mode may invoke discipline or punishment of slave. slave should always be aware of submission to Master David and slave cannot misuse this mode to contradict or debate issues related to slavery with Master David. § If slave is in a public place, this is the primary mode for telephone communications with Master David, unless otherwise told. § slave may ask to be placed in the ‘relax' mode by stating “Master, do you wish your slave to ‘relax'?” slave should thank Master David if permission is granted. If the subject slave wishes to discuss is not obvious to Master David slave should state what he wishes to discuss in the ‘relax’ mode. § Master David will only allow the ‘relax’ mode in situations where he feels slave will better please or serve him in this mode. § Extended use of ‘relax’ mode in private will not be encouraged. § If Master David leaves the room slave is in, slave will upon his return, present (standing present) to ascertain whether Master David wishes slave to continue. If he is sure that Master David is aware that he is presenting and he says nothing slave is permitted to continue in the ‘relax’ mode. The same present rules apply if slave leaves and returns to the same room that Master David is in. § slave is automatically removed from this mode and will be commanded to assume the ‘slave mode’ when given any position, ritual or punishment command, or given any order to do something. § slave may express himself openly and freely when in this mode and punishment or discipline will only be enforced for infractions of the rules already agreed up and established.
